Our Managing Director has been involved in the underfloor heating market since 1982 as an agent for a large Scandinavian company. Later he went on to join another company, with these companies he gained valuable experience and knowledge until 1998 when he formed Underfloor Heating Supplies Ltd, producing our own underfloor heating brand called “Komfort”.
In 1998 we established our branch in Kidderminster, Worcestershire specifically to offer a full design, supply and installation service for the underfloor heating market. What is underfloor heating?
As most people know the Romans developed the concept of underfloor heating and used it extensively in grand palaces and villas, throughout their empire, for more than 400 years. However, things have moved on a little since then and today there are two types of underfloor heating - water and electric.
Most underfloor systems run on water, the requirement is generally for a system of pipes which run through the floor gently heating it all over.
Electric heating is much the same, with pipes being replaced by cables that allow for a release of warmth to the floor.
Water-based underfloor heating is more economical for running purposes which allow the choice of energy suppliers and fuel types including Renewable Energy such as Geothermal, Wind Power Solar & Biomass etc.
